Elopement Ceremony

Lorna Gibb - Sunshine Coast Marriage Celebrant

Often couples wish to have a simple no fuss marriage ceremony with a small group of close family and friends or even just two witnesses present. In this case, an Elopement or ‘Legals Only’ ceremony may be just the thing for you. If you are planning an overseas wedding where you are unsure of the legal validity of the ceremony performed in the destination country you can opt for such a ceremony. Or you may just simply want to get married in one quick swoop and jet off on honeymoon, no questions asked!

My services include:

  • Our first meeting, where we have the chance to get to know each other, and most importantly you have the chance to decide whether I’m the right celebrant for your special day. I will talk you through the process of getting married and what is included in my services including the legal requirements for your marriage. Ideally, we would do this face to face, but a conversation over Skype or FaceTime is also possible if more convenient for you
  • Providing you with examples of readings and vows to start shaping the day. I will also send you a couple’s questionnaire for you to complete
  • Referrals to other wedding suppliers e.g. florists, make-up, music etc., to help make the planning a little bit easier
  • Our second meeting, to discuss your ceremony in more detail and when I can get to know you both better to help bring your unique ceremony together. At this meeting, we will also complete the legal paperwork required in advance of the ceremony, notably the Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM). You will require your ID for this meeting, your passport or Birth Certificate and driver license
  • Following the second meeting I will provide you with a first draft ceremony for your review
  • We can communicate back and forth as much as required via email and telephone to finalise the ceremony and ensure it is one that you both feel truly reflects your vision for the day
  • Rehearsal at the venue prior to the ceremony, if required
  • Personalised vow cards to read from during the ceremony and for you to have as a keepsake
  • A professionally printed marriage certificate
  • Completion of all legal paperwork and lodgement with the relevant authorities on your behalf. (Please note, after the marriage couples must obtain their own Registered Marriage Certificate from Births, Deaths and Marriages)
  • A professional quality PA system with wireless microphone, Bluetooth and USB connectivity for use during the ceremony as well as for your chosen music
